The Lambton Lions Esports varsity team roster has been finalized for the 2019-20 competitive season, and several new faces will be making their varsity debuts.
Hearthstone
Carter Medeiros is back for his third season on the Lions Hearthstone team accompanied by returning player Thomas Travassos. Their veteran presence will help Nicolas Isajiw who is entering his first year with the team as he attends Lambton College’s Esports Entrepreneurship and Administration program.
League of Legends
A trio of rookies enter the rift this season for the Lions. Simmon Villada and Dylan Ulloa join the team while attending Lambton’s ESEA program, and Peng Yue becomes the first Chinese-born player to join the Lambton Lions Esports varsity team. All three players enter the season with a Diamond-level rank and are welcome additions to an already-strong roster which includes returning members Tommy Cameron, Steven King, Nolan Toomey, Russell Youtzy and Brendon Lee.
Fortnite
Jason Francis is the only returning player from last year’s inaugural Lambton Lions Fortnite team. He was one half of the LL Elites duo that went a combined 11-1 during the Collegiate Starleague’s Fall (7-0) and Spring (4-1) seasons.
His duo partner this year will be incoming rookie Cory Wiens. Newcomers Caleb Deighton and Justyce McMahon will form the second duo to represent Lambton this coming season.
Smash Bros. Ultimate
A trio of rookies join four veterans on the Lambton Lions Smash Bros. Ultimate team this year. Austin Peterson, Christopher Foschia and Devon Russell — all students in Lambton College’s Esports Entrepreneurship and Administration program — fill out the roster that features four returning players: Forrest Boire, Ryan Hiebert, Jared Chapman and Brock McCutcheon.
Rocket League
The Lambton Lions will be represented twice in collegiate Rocket League competitions this season as Lambton College features two teams. Returning Grand Champion Mikaele Sebecic will be joined by fellow GCs Kyle Fowler and Gavin Storozuk who are making their Lions debuts. Foster Mcilmoyle returns for his second season as well.
The second roster features returning players Yvon Purdy and Ryan Glivar along with rookies Christopher Foschia (also featured on the Lions Smash Ultimate team) and Brett Cook.
Competition schedules vary for each team throughout the 2019-20 season. Check back here for weekly updates. Congratulations to all players and best of luck this season!
