For the first time in program history, Lambton Lions Esports will take part in the upcoming NECC esports season competing in League of Legends. Following a pair of placement matches prior to the start of the season, Lambton will compete in the “Challengers Yellow” division along with 13 other colleges and universities from across North America.
The Lions start the 2021-22 competitive season with plenty of new names on the roster, as Tommy ‘H00ver4ever’ Spivak is the only returning player from last season featured in the starting lineup. Newcomers include Derek ‘Nueva’ Villanueva, Mason ‘Mason’ Boomsma, Luc ‘Kitastrophe’ Kita, and Jesse ‘Nexi’ Easterbrook. Srish ‘Xzel’ Kulkarni – also from the 2020-21 roster – returns as head coach and substitute.
The Lambton Lions begin their inaugural NECC campaign on Friday September 24th against the University of Mount Union based out of Alliance, Ohio. See below for the complete Fall schedule.
