The Lambton Lions Rocket League trio of Seb, Fowler and Ahrupt were off to a perfect start this season. Through the first month of the CSL season, they held the second place spot in the North 1 division after victories over Carleton (W 3-1), Brock University (W 3-0) and the second Lambton Lions trio of WavingBread, Yvonadabadoo and Snipz (W 3-0). This past weekend, the win streak came to an end in thrilling fashion against Durham College.
Lambton and Durham would go back and forth through the first four games of the Best-of-5 match setting up a winner-take-all Game 5. An overtime Game 5 goal by Durham resulted in the Lambton Lions being handed their first loss of the season, plummeting them to 5th in the North 1 division.
The second Lambton Lions trio (billed as the Lambton Bees in CSL) have unfortunately started their season on the wrong foot. Losses to the Georgian Grizzlies (L 0-3), McMaster University (L 1-3), Lambton Lions (L 1-3) and Algonquin College (L 1-3) have set the Lambton Bees at 0-4 on the season. The Bees still have an opportunity to get into the win column with a match against Carleton before the holiday break.
