The Lambton Lions Esports League of Legends team are OESL champions. Wednesday night was the final night of competition for the up-and-coming Ontario Esports League based out of Toronto, Ontario and comprised of collegiate and independent players from across the province. The team went undefeated in the month-long campaign for the OESL title culminating with a 3-0 sweep of their best-of-5 final match.
The League of Legends squad will now prepare for their upcoming match vs. Saints Gaming out of St. Clair College in Windsor, ON in the second instalment of the “Border City Battle”. The event features the varsity esports programs of St. Clair College and Lambton College go head-to-head in a series of different games. The inaugural event held this past November at Lambton College saw Saints Gaming win the overall competition 3-2. The next Border City Battle will take place April 12.
