The winning streak is over for the Lambton Lions Esports League of Legends team. The Lions entered this past weekend 6-0 in Collegiate Starleague play, and faced a fellow contender for top spot in the Northeast-8 conference as the Carleton Ravens Black team sported a 5-1 record. The match started strong for the Lions as the lineup of Lightsfaith, Mo2, JNT250, Leebrah and Kingsmoo took the first game. Unfortunately, that was the only bright spot for the Lions on the afternoon as Carleton would come back to win the Best-of-3 match 2-1.
Lambton Lions Esports (6-1) is now tied for first in the Northeast-8 CSL Star League conference with Tespa Carleton Ravens Black and the Ace Timberwolves out of Algonquin College.
Up next for the Lions is Fanshawe College this Saturday before a potential fight for first place on Jan. 18 when Lambton takes on the Ace Timberwolves. The Lions League of Legends team is also preparing for their return to LAN ETS in Montreal next month. In 2019, the Lions were one match short of making the quarterfinals and were the last collegiate team to be eliminated.
