About Lambton Lions Esports
Operated by the Student Administrative Council (SAC), Lambton Lions Esports is a varsity team that represents Lambton College by competing in a variety of video game titles. Our Call of Duty, League of Legends, Fortnite, and Rocket League teams compete against other colleges and universities across North America while vying for thousands of dollars’ worth of prizes each year.
We also operate the Lambton College Esports Arena: a computer lab that features 21 gaming PCs equipped with more than 50 different games. The Lambton College Esports Arena is located at Room B1-201B in the Lambton College SAC student lounge adjacent to the upper-level cafeteria.
About The Position
As a live stream producer, you would be responsible for the planning and execution of streaming content on the Lambton Lions Esports official Twitch channel. This would include ensuring commentators are in place, and appropriate graphics and overlays are equipped and displayed throughout the stream. You would also ensure a safe, welcoming environment in the Twitch channel’s chat room. Content includes Lambton Lions Esports competitions versus other schools (league play or exhibition), as well as other student events that occur through the semester.
As a shoutcaster, you would provide play-by-play or colour commentary on our live stream broadcasts of any varsity competitions on the Lambton Lions Esports Twitch channel.
Job Description
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Planning and executing official streams on the Lambton Lions Esports Twitch channel
- Consult with varsity team coaches obtaining permissions for each match to be streamed
- Working with the esports coordinator to develop a weekly stream schedule
- Ensuring commentators are in place for every stream where required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- A strong understanding of OBS Streamlabs, OBS Studio, and similar software
- A strong understanding of Twitch
- A strong understanding of “spectator modes” for Call of Duty, Rocket League, and League of Legends
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Problem solving / troubleshooting skills
- Acuity for stream content quality
Remuneration
$500 honorarium awarded at the conclusion of varsity competition for the Winter 2022 term
