The last Sunday of February marked the beginning of the Tespa Overwatch Collegiate Regional Playoffs. The single-elimination bracket would have the Lions draw the Wayne Wolves out of the Detroit-based Wayne State University. The best-of-5 series proved to be entirely in favour of the Lions as they would score victories on the Lijiang Tower, King’s Row and Volskaya Industries maps.
Fresh off the 3-0 sweep, the Lions would then face The Bulldogs out of Ferris State University. Entering the match, the Lambton Lions were 6-1 in their last seven matches including regular season play. The Bulldogs — who went 4-1 during the regular season — outmatched the Lions in the same three maps as their earlier matchup, ending Lambton’s run in the Tespa Overwatch Collegiate Regional Playoffs.
With the season now over, the Lions will turn their attention to the upcoming Border City Battle Pt. 2, tentatively scheduled for April 12.
